Dr. Bateman grew up on a farm in Grand Forks, ND. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from North Dakota State University.
Dr. Bateman earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. During his clinical rotations, he received training in the esteemed Mayo Clinic Health System, specializing in eye disease and surgical co-management. He then went on to complete his residency in eye disease in Stillwater, MN.
During his rotations and residency, Dr. Bateman developed a passion for eye disease and injury care. He strongly believes in empowering his patients to take charge of their own eye health by teaching them about their diagnosis and making sure all questions are answered.
Dr. Bateman enjoys hiking and camping with his wife and dog, spending time on the lake (even when it’s frozen!), playing video games, and making music.
